Started in May 2022, Acus is a simple, one weight display style, with the Google Core glyph set. It is a high contrast sans with a lot of personality and friendly character. The inspiration for the project comes from the technical lettering of industrial warning plaques from the communist Poland. The diacritic marks, punctuation and symbols carry over the expression of the basic Latin letters. The family might be further expanded with an inline, a stencil, and a range of weights.

Acus aims to counter the overwhelming presence of minimalistic sans serifs that dominate the modern visual landscape.
